Jomsom Muktinath Trek


In Annapurna region probably all trek can be performed. Likewise for holy trek route of Jomsom Muktinath has been designed. This area is part of Mustang Region but it is included in surface of Annapurna region. It is divided part of Annapurna circuit route. We walk on main path formed by Annapurna Conservation Area. We are provided with diverse landscape. Our main trekking destination is Muktinath. It is holy pilgrimages of Hindus and Buddhist people in Nepal. 108 waterspouts are in this temple. They all pass from gorgeous natural spring water. If we take bath in 108 water spouts, then our shrines are decreased. It is great saying of our ancestors. Till now it is followed.  Leaving this our route include Kali Gandaki River. It is deepest gorge of the world. We are attracted by oldest monasteries, beautiful landscapes and local tribes. We will explore all about them.

We start Jomsom Muktinath Trek from Pokhare. Here we reach by drive. Flight is also possible. Our route leads us to many villages. Some of them where we spend our night are Ghorepani, Tadapani, Ghasa, Tukuche, Muktinath, Jomsom etc. Here we have interaction with local people. We will explore their local culture and tradition. In this way we complete our whole trek. In returning we have early morning mountain flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. It is also our main theme of trek. This will give good finish for our trek.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu.

Day 05: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2840m) – 5 Hours

Day 06: Hike up to Poon Hill (3210m) & to Tatopani (2610m) – 4 Hours

Day 07: Tatopani to Ghasa (2010m) – 5 Hours

Day 08: Ghasa to Tukuche (2586m) – 6 Hours

Day 09: Tukuche to Kagbeni (2810m) – 5 Hours

Day 10: Kagbeni to Muktinath (3802m) – 5 Hours

Day 11: Muktinath to Jomsom (2713m) – 5 Hours

Day 12: Jomsom to Pokhara

Day To Day Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu.

Landing your flight at TIA, our representative will be there for your warm welcome. He/she are for your arrival.  You will be shifted to your place of accommodation. You can have full rest after a long flight. From the next day our routine will be according to our itinerary. Make full preparation for it.

Day 02: Kathmandu exploration and preparation for trek.

We will spend our day roaming all around Kathmandu valley. For you there will be guide who will pick you up in your hotel. We will start our day tour after breakfast. It is very easy. At first we will visit Pashupatinath. It is holiest temple of Lord Shiva. Our next destination is Boudhanath. It is known as little Tibet. Finishing this we will move on to Swyambhunath. It is also known as monkey temple. Lastly we will drive to Basantapur Durbar Square. Finishing all this we will return back to hotel and make further preparation.    

Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara (7 to 8 hours)

We will drive to Pokhara. During our drive it will be interesting to see roadside houses in corner of dense forest. After a drive of 6 to 7 hours we will be at Pokhara. Pokhara is one of the most beautiful cities of Nepal. In Pokhara we can spend our leisure time exploring around sweet city and area of beautiful Lakesides.

Day 04: Pokhara to Nayapul drive & trek to Tikhedhunga (1577m) – 3 Hours

Early morning we start our journey with a short drive to Nayapul. From here we need to walk. Our first day walk may be quite difficult. Surrounding environments are very fresh and beautiful. All things will be totally new for us. We need to climb continuously uphill until we reach Tikhedhunge.

Day 05: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2840m) – 5 Hours

Walking continuously uphill made us tired. With a good sleep, early morning we continue our walk to Ghorepani. Beautiful village of Magar people community is our lunch point. Having our lunch we rest for some time. Then we need to walk up for about 3 hours to reach Ghorepani. The surrounding area of Ghorepani is very beautiful.

Day 06: Hike up to Poon Hill (3210m) & Tadapani (2610m) – 4 Hours

Today we need to wake up early to hike a short hill named Poon Hill. It is best view point of Annapurna region famous worldwide. From the top of hill combination of more than 10 mountains in same row will be so much impressive. For memory we can take a picture in camera. We return back after spending some of our time. Lastly we will have our lunch and continue our walk to Tadapani. Our today’s walk is not so much difficult. 

Day 07: Tadapani to Ghasa (2010m) – 5 Hours

From Tadapani our next destination is Ghasa. Today we need to trek downward. It will be easy in walking. Mesmerizing forest of rhododendron (national flower of Nepal) is very impressive. We pass through beautiful Gurung community village. We will not stop our walk till we reach beautiful Ghasa village.

Day 08: Ghasa to Tukuche (2586m) – 6 Hours

Tukuche is our today’s destination of trek. It is Thakali community village. In beginning walk we cross eastern side of river. It is entrance of Larjung. We reach Khobang village walking on zigzag trial. Here we will rest for some time. Then we continue our walk till we reach Tukuche to spend our night.

Day 09: Tukuche to Kagbeni (2810m) – 5 Hours

Waking up early morning we make preparation to climb side valley to Kagbeni with our breakfast. Ekle Bhatti track is our main walking trial. It is direct route to Muktinath. Our rest point is junction of Jhong Khola & Kali Gandaki River. Here we spend our little time and resume our walk to Kagbeni.

Day 10: Kagbeni to Muktinath (3802m) – 5 Hours

It is our main day of trek. We are walking to Muktinath. It is holy pilgrimage of hindu & Buddhist people. Our track is so much windy. The cool air blown us will refresh our mind. We feel difficult as we walk on storm trial. Our path is fully covered with sand. Walking in very difficult path we reach Muktinath.

Day 11: Muktinath to Jomsom (2713m) – 5 Hours

From Muktinath, we continue our walk to Jomsom. Jomsom will be our ending point of our trek. We can easily reach Jomsom as we need to walk on flat and downhill track. Today’s walk is long distance walk in easy trial. Reaching on jomsom we make confirmation of our tomorrow’s flight to Pokhara.

Day 12: Flight from Jomsom to Pokhara

With an early morning mountain flight to Pokhara, our whole trek is completed. It goes for about 1 Hr. in this duration we will feel as we are flying in heaven. Just above beautiful ranges of mountains we will be flying. Landing on Pokhara we spend our remaining time on visiting the area of Pokhara. 

Day 13: Pokhara to Kathmandu

Today we will return back to Kathmandu. We return back through the Prithivi highway. Greenery of highway will be so much impressive. Our lunch program is all managed in our way. We can have direct flight from pokhara to Kathmandu. From our flight we cannot enjoy the nature like drive.

Day 14: Farewell

Keeping good memory of Nepal, it’s time to return back to our home land. We will organize a small farewell program for you. You will be given all instruction and management of your departure is all managed by our team. Hope you will again return back to Nepal for visiting next beautiful side.
